Peninsula Man Arrested For Shooting Room Next To Toddlers': SMC

After a verbal argument, the Menlo Park man pulled out a gun and fired it into a closet in a room next to where toddlers were located.

MENLO PARK, CA -- A 33-year-old Menlo Park man was arrested Monday on suspicion of discharging a gun with gross negligence and child cruelty after he shot into a closet with toddlers in the next room, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Department reported.

Deputies responded to a call reporting shots fired at 10:41 p.m. on the 100 block of Amherst in unnincorporated Menlo Park. According to accounts of the incident, Christopher Green engaged in an argument when he retrieved a gun from a back bedroom and fired a single round into a closet.

At the time, two young toddlers were in the next room. Deputies found a bullet lodged in the door frame of a closet.
