PG&E Gives Menlo Business Park $540,000 Check

Menlo Business Park cashes in on PG&E energy rebate program.

Pacific Gas & Electric presented Dave Tarlton, manager of Menlo Business Park, with a $540,000 check Friday, rewarding Tarlton Properties for its commitment to producing energy efficiency projects.

"These projects will save the campus office and its tenants more than 2.7 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually,” PG&E Spokesman Joe Molica said. “The energy saved could supply 366 homes and avoid the emissions of 192 cars on the road per year.”

Some of the projects included efficient lighting systems, day light harvesting, and dimmable lighting systems. PG&E said these projects, along with others, have helped keep a total of 155 million tons of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere since 1976. 

Keynote speakers at the event in Menlo Park were environmental author L. Hunter Lovins, California Assemblymember , and Menlo Park Mayor .
