Purse Stolen At Gunpoint

Incident took place on Sharon Road.

Police are looking for a man who held a woman at gunpoint in the 2300 bock of Sharon Road Monday night.

She was walking and talking on her cell phone at about 9:50, when he walked up to her, according to a police record.

“The suspect pointed a gun at the victim’s chest and told her to get in the car,” said Nicole Acker, Menlo Park Police spokesperson.

“The victim refused and the suspect then grabbed her phone and her arm.”

He wrenched her purse from her after "a brief struggle" and escaped into a getaway vehicle, which departed south on Sharon Road in the direction of Sharon Park Drive. Police records describe the vehicle as silver or grey. She was not hurt, nor was he, according to a police record.

The male is said to be a 20-something-year old Hispanic man with a shaved head, wearing dark pants and a sweat shirt. No description of the getaway vehicle’s driver exists. Both remain at large.

Menlo Park Police are asking anyone with information to call them at (650) 330-6300, or leave an anonymous tip at (650) 330-6363.
