Suspicious Man Who Approached Girl Sought
The man allegedly drove up and engaged conversation with the girl out walking near Ringwood and Coleman avenues last week.

MENLO PARK, CA -- San Mateo County sheriff's deputies are seeking a man who approached a 14-year-old girl as she walked to school in unincorporated Menlo Park last week and offered her a ride. The case, considered by the sheriff's office as a suspicious circumstance, occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 3 near the intersection of Ringwood and Coleman avenues.
The suspect in a newer-model dark gray or black BMW approached the girl and said he was low on gas and would give her a ride if she gave him some money, sheriff's officials said. The girl declined and the man drove away in the car, described as having a paper dealership plate instead of a rear license plate.
The suspect was described as a light-skinned Hispanic man with blonde hair who was clean-shaven and wore a red sweater and black vest.
