Structure Fire Quickly Doused In N. Fair Oaks By Menlo Park Fire
The kitchen fire was started on a stove top in a single-story duplex on Dumbarton Avenue. Firefighters extinguished the fire in 3 minutes.

MENLO PARK, CA -- Menlo Park firefighters and San Mateo County dispatchers were on top of their game when the latter got a structure fire call at 1:41 p.m. Thursday and the former responded and extinguished it within three minutes of their arrival at 1:48 p.m.
It was determined the kitchen fire started on a stove top with an unattended cooking pan, where it was isolated since Capt. Jim Montalvo jumped on it when they were driving in the area on Engine 5.
Damage was estimated between $5,000 and $15,000. No one was injured.
