Voting Period to Begin for Atherton Special Mail Ballot Election
San Mateo County announces that the voting period for the Town of Atherton Special Mail Ballot Election will begin on May 8.

From San Mateo County Registration & Elections Division: Mark Church, San Mateo County’s Chief Elections Officer & Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder, announced that the voting period for the June 6, 2017 Town of Atherton Special Mail Ballot Election will begin May 8, 2017.
“As a convenience to voters during the early voting period, eligible voters from any precinct in the district may come to our Voting Center to cast a ballot or drop off a voted mail ballot,” Mr. Church stated. “The voter may choose to vote using the eSlate electronic voting machine or on a paper ballot.”
The Voting Center, located at the Registration & Elections Division at 40 Tower Road, San Mateo, will be open from May 8 through June 5 on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Election Day, June 6, the Voting Center will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. As this is an All-Mailed Ballot Election, no polling places will be open on Election Day.

May 8 also marks the first day that Vote by Mail Ballots and Official Voter Information Guides will be sent out to all registered voters in the district. The date voters receive their ballot depends on local mail delivery service. If a voter has not received their ballot by May 17, he or she should contact the Registration & Elections Division. May 22 is also the last day to register to vote in this election.
Voters are encouraged to use the “Track and Confirm” tool on here to verify when ballot materials were mailed and when the Registration & Elections Division received their voted ballot.

The Town Hall in Atherton will have a ballot drop-off box available during regular business hours throughout the voting period. Mailed ballots can only be accepted if they are postmarked on or before Election Day and received by Friday, June 9, 2017. On Election Day, voted mail ballots may be dropped off until 8:00 p.m. at the Voting Center or Atherton Town Hall.
