Investigators allege a 21-year-old man and 17-year-old boy were seen burglarizing a vehicle Saturday near a BART station.

MILLBRAE, CA — Peninsula authorities credited an observant witness and a quick response by San Mateo County deputies Saturday in apprehending two car burglary suspects in Millbrae.

According to the sheriff's office, deputies were dispatched to the burglary call shortly after 6:30 p.m. near Chadbourne Avenue and Magnolia Avenue. A witness described two suspects burglarizing a vehicle in the area, and deputies learned they fled on foot toward El Camino Real.

After a brief search, investigators found two people matching the description near the Millbrae BART station, officials said. The sheriff's office said a 21-year-old man initially gave them a false name and was found carrying multiple burglary tools.
