2 Bodies Pulled From Car Submerged In Millbrae Flooding
Firefighters, who were conducting another rescue in the area, were unable to access the car because of the rapidly rising waters.
MILLBRAE, CA — Two bodies were pulled from a car found submerged by flooding in Millbrae on Thursday, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office reported police activity at the intersection of East Hillcrest Boulevard and Hemlock Avenue around 9:30 a.m. The area had been flooded since early Thursday morning.
Firefighters rescued one person from the roof of their flooded vehicle, a sheriff's office spokesperson told the San Francisco Chronicle.

During the rescue, firefighters also discovered another trapped vehicle in the roadway but they were unable to access the car because of the rapidly rising waters. The police were called in, and the two bodies were discovered after the floodwaters receded, according to the spokesperson.
A flood advisory for San Mateo County expired Thursday afternoon but was in effect throughout the morning. Firefighters responded to multiple flooding calls in the coastal areas of the county as rain battered the Peninsula.
