MILLBRAE, CA — An automated license plate reader helped notify San Mateo County deputies Tuesday of a Lodi man wanted on suspicion of attempted homicide, officials announced Wednesday.

The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office said a notification came in at 6:30 p.m. that a vehicle linked to Peter Sim, Jr., was in the Millbrae area. Deputies worked with the Burlingame Police Department to execute a high-risk traffic stop and arrested the man on a no-bail warrant issued by the Lodi Police Department.

"I am proud of the exceptional work carried out by our deputies in safely apprehending a potential homicide suspect," Sheriff Christina Corpus said in a statement Wednesday. "Their professionalism and training allowed them to quickly find and arrest a suspect wanted for a violent crime and helps to bring some sense of closure to the Lodi community."
