Colapietro and Lee Win, Third Seat too Close to Call
School bond measure passes.
Anne Oliva trails Robert Gottschalk by 16 votes and remains optimistic about the race’s outcome for the third seat on the council.
Millbrae residents elected Marge Colapietro and Wayne Lee as council members. They also passed Measure N, a $30 million school bond that will be used to update infrastructure.

"Schools and safety are critical services," said John Cesario, who voted for the school bond.
Colapietro kept her lead throughout the night, and attributed her numbers partly to the people that helped her distribute her campaign message.

Gottshcalk was stupefied by the other candidates aggressive campaigning and fund raising.
“I was expecting Anne to take it, she had campaign signs all over the place,” he said.
And she might.
Election day vote-by-mail ballots and various provisional ballots still need to be counted.
“I enjoyed campaigning, going door to door and shaking people’s hands,” she said.
Wayne Lee also liked meeting new people and learning about their needs.
He raised the most campaign money and hired political consultants, but now “the real work begins,” he said.
On the other hand, the candidates that spent and raised the least amount of money, Marc Farber and Lorrie Kalos-Gunn, also received the least amount of votes.
“I raised money from local businesses,” Kalos-Gunn said. She was proud that she didn’t have to resort to outside sources to fund her campaign.
