MILLBRAE, CA — A suspect accused of robbing a Millbrae 7-Eleven and assaulting a clerk over the weekend was arrested in San Francisco, according to authorities.

The San Mateo County Sheriff's office said deputies fielded a robbery report around 3:30 p.m. Saturday from the 7-Eleven store on the 400 block of El Camino Real. A worker told investigators a suspect entered the store and stole multiple items before leaving, only to return with a metal rod and assault them. The sheriff's office said the employee suffered minor injuries.

Deputies searched the area but did not locate a suspect, later identified as Meleane Havea, 36, of San Francisco. Deputies worked with the San Francisco Police Department to take Havea into custody Sunday, and the suspect was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility on suspicion of robbery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
