MILLBRAE, CA — A man with a lengthy criminal history faces a potential felony after he was caught shoplifting a Millbrae Walgreens, according to the sheriff's office.

In a news release, officials said deputies were dispatched to the store at 615 Broadway to investigate reports of a theft in progress. Deputies soon located a man matching a detailed description provided by a 911 caller.

The sheriff's office identified the suspect as Randell Fields, 30, of South San Francisco, and said he was under post-release community supervision due to a "lengthy criminal history" that included previous convictions for shoplifting.
