New Face Joins Planning Commission

City Council selected Denis Fama as the new member of the Planning Commission.

Denis Fama will be taking Wayne Lee’s seat on the Planning Commission on Dec. 14, as Lee was recently to the City Council.

Fama has lived in Millbrae for 17 years, and in the last three, spearheaded the renovation of the , which will serve as a youth center.

Professionally, Fama’s background is in nonprofit management, and he is a pro bono consultant for local groups such as the Millbrae Education Foundation and the Millbrae Community Foundation.

“As a commissioner, I have a responsibility to listen, analyze the issues and develop collaborative outcomes wherever possible,” Fama said in a statement. “Planning means a balance of continuity and change; but the quality of life and what is best for the community must always be the basis of decisions.”

Fama serves on the board of the Millbrae Chamber of Commerce and is also an adjunct professor of business and management at Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont and John F. Kennedy University in Pleasant Hill.
