Police Blotter: Burglary Suspect Arrested, Close Call on Telephone Scam
The highlights from Millbrae Police reports so far this week.

Monday, July 4
3:10pm, 11550 Crystal Springs Road: Police pulled over driver for traffic stop. The man, who is on parole for drug possession and showing signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance, admits to using meth the previous day. Subject arrested.

12:29pm, 1030 Vallejo Drive: Police contacted man in area, who had no explanation for why he was there. He possessed miscellaneous suspicious property, which linked him to a residential burglary in Redwood City where two cars were stolen from the garage. One of the vehicles was recovered on Vallejo Drive. He was booked.
5:01pm, Santa Barbara Avenue: Police received a call concerning a physical fight. A mother and daughter were arguing over summer break. Argument was settled prior to officers’ arrival.

Wednesday, July 6
9:08am, 1280 El Camino Real: A report was taken for a burglary that occurred between the mornings of July 5 and 6.
1:32pm, 1062 Hillcrest Blvd.: An elderly female received a call from a male subject who identified himself as being her eldest grandson and told her that he had an accident in Panama City, Panama. He said he needed money sent to him via Western Union to pay bills. She almost sent the money but got suspicious and contacted the real grandson who was fine. She was given advice of these on-going scams and how to take precautions.
7:20pm, Sol Vista Grande: Police received a report of subject selling meat door to door. Police contacted subject who was delivering meat to customer on his route.
7:54pm, San Anselmo South Avenue/Santa Helena Avenue: Bicycle stop on subject led to discovery of $20,000 outstanding warrant. Subject evaluated at scene for being under the influence. Booked into Redwood City jail for warrant.
Thursday, July 7
12:08pm, 615 Broadway: Homeless person requested to leave premises of Walgreens, but refused to do so, at which point security called for police. Subject cooperative with police and agreed to sign 602-notification form.
12:31pm, 1062 El Camino Real: Female subjected reported that she and her husband are in the process of getting a divorce, and that she did not want to live in the same apartment with her husband. Restraining order advice was offered, but subject refused to take the information.
9:14pm, 979 Broadway: Police received report of wallets and a watch taken from men’s locker room.
Friday, July 8
12:35am, El Camino Real/Murchison Drive: 17-year-old juvenile ran red light at Millbrae Avenue at about 40mph. Driver was cited for red light and for driving outside restrictions of her provisional license. Mother was called and took custody of driver and her 17-year-old passenger.
