Shelter Repeats Giants Themed Adoption for Spring Training
Through March 31, visitors can adopt any black or orange cat or dog for just $9.

Continuing a promotion honoring the San Francisco San Francisco Giants' National League Division Series win, the Peninsula Humane Society and SPCA announced a special $9 adoption fee for black and orange pets.
The shelter found homes for 105 cats last fall when they started the program, and this time it is including dogs in its orange and black theme.
“Last year, we hitched our wagon to the Giants and it worked out pretty well for both of us,” said PHS/SPCA spokesperson Scott Delucchi. “They won a World Series and we found homes for more cats than we ever imagined. I think we’d both love a repeat.”

Typically, adoption fees average about $8o for cats and $120 for dogs, and the shelter estimated a forfeit of more than $10,000 in fees by the end of the World Series.
“Just as we said last fall, we will gladly trade good homes for fees,” said PHS/SPCA President Ken White.
