Teen Hospitalized After E-Bike Crash In Millbrae

Police said a 13-year-old boy was seriously injured Tuesday after crashing an e-bike into a box truck.

MILLBRAE, CA — A teen boy riding an e-bike was hospitalized with serious injuries after crashing into a box truck in Millbrae, according to the sheriff's office.

Officials said a preliminary investigation found the 13-year-old was riding northbound on El Camino Real around 3 p.m. Tuesday when he hit the back of a truck near Taylor Boulevard. Deputies arrived at the scene and started providing first aid until medics arrived and rushed the boy to the hospital by ambulance.

Investigators said the truck's driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with deputies. The road was closed for several hours while the investigation continued.
