Woman Driving Overdue Rental Car Arrested In Millbrae: Police
Investigators allege the San Francisco woman ignored the rental company's repeated attempts to reach her.
MILLBRAE, CA — A San Francisco woman driving a rental car she refused to return was arrested over the weekend after a license plate reader flagged the vehicle in Millbrae, according to investigators.
The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office said the woman was driving southbound on El Camino Real on Saturday afternoon when the automated plate reader flagged the vehicle as stolen. Deputies found the vehicle as it turned east onto East Millbrae Avenue and pulled the car over on North Rollins Road.
Investigators allege the woman had neglected to return the vehicle to the rental company despite multiple attempts to contact her. She was arrested without incident and booked into the Maguire Correction Facility on suspicion of embezzlement.
