Mill Valley Seeks To Fill Key Commission Vacancy
The city is seeking to fill an unscheduled Emergency Preparedness Commission vacancy, officials said.
MILL VALLEY, CA — The city of Mill Valley is seeking to fill an unexpected vacancy on a key commission.
The Emergency Preparedness Commission term will run from the date of appointment through Feb. 28, 2023, city officials said.
The chosen applicant will be able to reapply for a new three-year term when their appointment runs out, city officials said.

The Emergency Preparedness Commission assists the city in preparing for its response, recovery, and mitigation of disasters.
The Commission’s duties include identifying and organizing community groups, including residential neighborhood associations, schools and businesses, promoting community emergency response training, creating and maintaining a doctors’ and nurses’ registry, educating residents on ways to be self-sufficient in a disaster; and providing recommendations to the City Council on preparedness matters.

To be considered for this role, applicants must be Mill Valley residents.
All applicants should have a demonstrated interest and knowledge of emergency preparedness.
The Emergency Preparedness Commission is an advisory Commission to the City Council and City staff with no decision or policy making authority.
Staff support of the Emergency Preparedness Commission is provided by the Fire Department and the City’s Fire Chief.
Commission meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Upstairs Conference Room at City Hall, 26 Corte Madera Avenue.
