Mill Valley ‘Shop Local’ Event To Showcase Women-Owned Businesses

The Holidayfest event originally scheduled for both days this weekend will be held Saturday only due to high chance of rain Sunday.

MILL VALLEY, CA — A Mill Valley “shop local” Holidayfest event this weekend will showcase more than 20 local women-owned brands and businesses.

The Holidayfest will be held at The Junction (226 Shoreline Hwy.) Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (The event was originally scheduled for both days this weekend won’t be held Sunday due to a high chance of rain). Admission is $12.

The event will be hosted by the owners of Freda Salvador and Molly J., two women-owned brands.

““This came about because we wanted to provide a space for people to shop local, support women-owned businesses, and have fun while doing their holiday shopping,” Kate Schelter, a spokesperson for the event said.

The admission cost will going toward the cost to rent The Junction.

The event will also include a toy drive benefiting Family House, a home away from home for children fighting life-threatening illnesses.

“The idea is that people can come and do all of their holiday shopping, and also enjoy free craft tonics, food and drinks from The Junction, and possibly get pampered with ear piercing or custom welded jewelry,” Schelter said.
