Armed Robbers Took Guns, Money From Monrovia Home

The suspects broke into the house and forced one of the residents to unlock the gun safe before taking off with the guns and money.

MONROVIA, CA - Four armed men committed a home-invasion robbery Tuesday in Monrovia, authorities said.

The crime occurred shortly before 2 a.m. in the 1000 Block of East Lemon Avenue, the Monrovia Police Department reported.

"The suspects forced their way into the residence and forced the victims to the floor," a police statement said. "All suspects were described as wearing hooded sweatshirts with the draw strings (pulled) tight around their faces.

"The suspects ordered one of the victims to open the gun safe, and they removed several firearms, and cash from the safe," police said. "The suspects also stole a laptop computer."

The gunmen fled, and the victims called police. No injuries were reported.
