UPDATE: Burglar in North Monrovia Neighborhood Evades Capture
The Monrovia Police Department searched for a burglary suspect seen exiting a home on Laurel Lane but the man got away.

A burglar evaded police and remains at large after neighbors reported seeing him exiting a northern Monrovia home through a window, authorities said.
The suspect was seen leaving the home in the 600 block of Laurel Lane with a stolen laptop at about 11;10 a.m., according to Monrovia Police Lt. Michael Lee. A police helicopter joined the search as police set up a containment area but it appears the suspect got away before officers arrived on scene, Lee said.
"There was some time delay from the time the neighbors saw him to the time they called us," Lee said.

The burglary was similar to other daytime burglaries in the north part of town reported last week, Lee said. The items taken and the time of day were similar but Lee said investigators don't have evidence directly linking the crimes.
"I don't know if I have enough information yet to say there's any relationship," Lee said.
