Good evening Monrovians,
Find out what's happening in Monroviafor free with the latest updates from Patch.
While much progress has been made today to restore power to many residents, there are still some neighborhoods without power. Southern California Edison (SCE) reported 20,298 customers in Los Angeles County were affected by outages. According to a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Oxnard, gusts of up to 89 mph were recorded at Mt. Lukens in the San Gabriel Mountains!
To assist SCE, the City approved a street closure on E. Central Avenue between California Avenue and S. Shamrock Avenue to stage more equipment, which will speed up their efforts to restore power across Monrovia.

To the many residents who are without power for nearly 24 hours…we are so sorry it is taking so long and appreciate your patience. SCE and City crews will continue working through the night.
Sincerely,
Dylan
