MONROVIA, CA — Monrovia officials will receive an update on the city’s equity and inclusion practices during Tuesday’s City Council meeting.

The ad hoc Committee on Equity and Inclusion was established to determine whether any city’s policies or practices were “unjust or unfair; create structural barriers to diversity, equity, and inclusion in city governance, employment, or enforcement; or perpetuate systemic racism in city government,” according to a staff report.

The committee then provides the City Council a list of recommendations on changes that could be made to city policies and practices.
