Man Attempts to Lure Monrovia Teen into Car, Offers Cash

For the second time this month, a Monrovia teen was approached and offered $200 to get into a car Thursday morning. Police are investigating if the suspect is the same man who approached a teenage girl on Nov. 8.

A man attempted to lure a Monrovia 15-year-old into his vehicle by offering her $200 cash and police are investigating whether the suspect is the same man who tried to lure a teenager into his car earlier this month.

The girl was walking to school in the 500-600 block of East Olive Avenue  at about 8:10 a.m. when the suspect approached in his white pickup and asked her to get in, according to a Monrovia Police Department news release.

The girl refused, so he pulled his car up further, turned onto the 600 block of Monterey Avenue, and waited for her to approach, according to police.

"It is unknown if this is related to the incident which occurred on November 8, but detectives are investigating and are coordinating their investigation with school officials," the release states.
