Man Killed In Fatal Monrovia Train Collision Identified

MONROVIA, CA — Authorities have identified the pedestrian that was struck and killed by a Los Angeles Metro train in Monrovia Friday as a Duarte resident.

Fabian Cano, 20, was hit by a Los Angeles-bound train for the L Line, formerly the Gold Line, near California Avenue and Duarte Road around 4:25 a.m. Friday. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Metro said.

The collision brought a temporary halt to train service between the Duarte and Arcadia stations while investigators looked into Cano's death.
