Monrovia Unified Set To Purchase 1,500 Chromebooks
The Chromebooks would cost around $600K and be given to every Monrovia Unified student in kindergarten, fourth, sixth and ninth grades.

MONROVIA, CA — The Monrovia Unified School District’s Board of Education is expected to approve the purchase of 1,500 Chromebooks during Wednesday’s board meeting.
If approved, the purchase would provide new laptops for students in kindergarten as well as in fourth, sixth and ninth grades, according to a staff report. The total cost would be $600,000 and be paid for from the district’s Expanding Learning Opportunity funds, which is grant money provided by the state.
The purchase is part of the Board of Education's efforts to give every student in the district a Chromebook, Superintendent Ryan Smith previously said in a statement.
