Monrovia Woman Placed On Mental Hold After Striking Police, Saying She Wanted To Kill Herself
The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said.

MONROVIA, CA -- A woman with some sort of mental issue was placed on an evaluation hold after striking an officer sent to investigate a domestic disturbance call, Monrovia police said.
Officers were sent to a residence in the 1500 block of South Myrtle Avenue around 2:05 p.m. Monday on a report of a woman hitting a man, police said.
"While the officers were detaining her, she kicked one of the officers in the leg," Monrovia Police Department said in a statement. "The female was arrested for battery on a police officer."

Officers found out the woman had repeatedly punched the man, making delusional statements said she wanted to kill herself, police said.
The man did not want to press charges. The woman was placed on a mental evaluation hold and taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said.
