Old Town Monrovia Implementing Flag Stand Trial Run To Reduce Pedestrian Crossing Accidents
The trial run is only limited to the mid-block of South Myrtle Avenue, between Lemon and Colorado.

MONROVIA, CA -- The Monrovia Old Town Advisory Board this week has started a trial run flag program to reduce pedestrian crossing accidents in Old Town, according to the Monrovia Weekly.
Under the program, pedestrians are encouraged to pick up a yellow flag, carry it with them while crossing the street and return the flag to the stand on the opposite side of the street, the Weekly reported. The trial run is only limited to the mid-block of South Myrtle Avenue, between Lemon and Colorado, according to the Weekly.
This is a temporary solution, however. The City Council has approved the placement of pedestrian crossing lights at each mid-block crosswalk in Old Town, according to the Weekly.
