Photos: See the New Monrovia Wilderness Preserve Signs Before They're Posted

Two entrances are scheduled to be officially opened to the public this summer.

Images of the new signage for Monrovia's Wilderness Preserve have been released to the public and should be posted by the end of the summer.

Two entrances to the preserve—Highland and Sleepy Hollow—should be officially opened to the public this summer when the new signage is put up, city spokeswoman Jen McClain told Patch. City park rangers continue to patrol the area in the meantime, she said.

The City Council approved a resource management plan for the preserve last February in a meeting that drew heated debate. Some hillside residents were concerned greater access to the preserve would cause parking and foot traffic headaches while others insisted the public land should be more available to the public.
