Pomona Police to Conduct Specialized Motorcycle Safety Enforecement

Pomona police will conduct a specialized motorcycle safety enforcement operation Friday in an effort to lower deaths and injuries.

In a city that has seen 65 injury collisions involving motorcycles in the last three years, four of which resulted in death, extra police officers will be assigned to areas where such crashes most frequently occur, said Cpl. J.T. Garcia of the Pomona Police Department.

The primary causes of crashes involving motorcycles are speeding, unsafe turning, and the use of alcohol and drugs, Garcia said.
