Amateur astronomers facing obstructed skies can watch the Geminid meteor shower live online through a Ustream feed set up by NASA. The feed <a href="http://www.nasa.gov/connect/chat/geminids2012.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">can be found here</a>. Watchers can also chat with a meteor expert from NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center on the site. Additionally, amateur astronomers can upload their own photos of the Geminids to a <a href="http://www.flickr.com/groups/geminids/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Flickr page set up by NASA</a>. Jane Houston Jones, a Monrovia resident, JPL scientist and co-founder of the Old Town Sidewalk Astronomers, said on Facebook Thursday that <a href="http://cleardarksky.com/c/MnrviaCAkey.html?1" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">local skies should provide a clear view of the shower</a>. Jones provides tips for seeing astronomical events through the light-polluted Los Angeles skies <a href="http://jane.whiteoaks.com/2012/01/08/viewing-meteor-showers-from-light-polluted-la-not-impossible/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">in her blog</a>.
