Alleged Glendale Hacker Arrested in 'Sextortion' Case

FBI Agents arrested a Glendale man Tuesday for allegedly hacking into social networking sites and "extorting women into showing him their naked bodies," authorities said.

Karen “Gary” Kazaryan, 27, is accused of hacking into Facebook, Skype, and email accounts of his victims and then using photos and other information to extort them and others into sending him naked photographs.

"Once he controlled the accounts, Kazaryan searched e-mails or other files for naked or semi-naked pictures of the victims, as well as other information, such as passwords and the names of their friends," a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office states. "Using that information, Kazaryan posed online as women, sent instant messages to their friends, and persuaded the friends to remove their clothing so that he could view and take pictures of them."

Kazaryan is charged with 15 counts of computer intrusion and 15 counts of identity theft.
