Helicopter Hovering Over La Crescenta Tuesday Night Helps Find Missing Elderly Hiker

A police helicopter working for the Glendale Police Department hovered Tuesday night for several hours in the La Crescenta area along the 210 Freeway between Pennsylvania Avenue and Lowell Avenue. 

Montrose Patch received a concerned tweet from a follower asking what was going on. According to Sgt. Tom Lorenz of the Glendale Police Department, the helicopter was helping look for a missing elderly hiker. 

"A male in his 80”s was briefly missing in the hills on the trails in the verdugos after dark. He was found safe," Lorenz wrote in an email.
