Hiker Topples into Waterfalls in Angeles Forest

A female hiker fell 20 feet over a waterfall in the Angeles National Forest Monday, requiring a helicopter rescue, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department.

The 10 a.m. incident at Hermit Falls, north of Arcadia, left the woman unable to move, at the time of rescue, so authorities hoisted her into Air Rescue 5, where paramedics treated her en route to a local hospital. 

Peck wrote that this is the second such injury and tactical rescue within the last four days. Another hiker fell Friday, in the same area, in a similar manner. So far this year, there have been a total of seven rescues at the same location, said Peck.
