Montrose Woman Has Car Broken Into in Her Own Driveway
The incident happened overnight Monday on Hermosa Avenue.

A Patch reader reported via the Montrose Patch Facebook page that she was had her car broken into while it was parked in her driveway overnight Monday.
The reader, who wishes to remain anonymous, lives on Hermosa, between Rosemont and Pleasure Way. She was not certain whether or not she left the car unlocked overnight. In an email to Patch she described the incident:
Got out to my car this morning at 5:30 a.m. to go to work, and my car (Toyota Highlander) had been ransacked. All my compartments (glove box, coin compartment, trash), etc. were open and papers were strewn about.
There’s a chance it might have been unlocked – I usually lock it, but was busily watching the Mad Men finale on Amazon last night and forgot to go check my car before I went to bed.

The car was parked way up in my long driveway, not on the street, which makes me feel VERY freaked out. I don’t think there was much in there for them to take (except kids’ books and things, which they didn’t take) but it looks like they might have taken $40 that I had buried in a stack of papers from work.
I know better than to leave anything in my car, but with life being busy, forget sometimes.
