Monday Essentials:

Patch's quick take on the essential things to know, the most interesting things to do and best places to be this week.

Here's a handful of things to keep in mind for the week.

If you have an event you'd like us to consider for inclusion, be sure to add it to the events calendar. We check it often!

    • Moorpark weather this week will be mild, with a high of 79 degrees all week after Monday's high of 81 degrees.
    • If you need to fill up the tank for the work commute, check out the Shell station at 6599 Collins Drive. According to GasBuddy.com, it's got the cheapest gas in town at $3.87 per gallon.
    • This week at the library, there will be an MHS book discussion at 5 p.m. Monday, a children's story time at 10:30 a.m. and teen's Wii Wednesday at 4 p.m. Wednesday, PJ story time at 6:30 p.m. Thursday and a Harry Potter screening at 2 p.m. Friday.
    • The Arroyo Vista Recreation Center has limited office hours this week due to staff training. The center will be open from 8:30 to 9 a.m. and 5 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
    • The city's photo contest continues through Oct. 1. In celebration of our 30th anniversary, the city is accepting entries to a photo contest. Winners' photos will be featured on a new city website. Find contest details on the Moorpark website contest page.
