Watch Again: SpaceX Falcon 9 Launch With Starlink Demo Satellites
The PAZ satellite carried by Falcon 9 will be operated by the Spanish company Hidesat.

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, CA — SpaceX launched its Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California early Thursday morning. The launch, which carried the PAZ satellite, was originally scheduled for Wednesday but that attempt was pushed back due to strong winds.
Earlier this month, SpaceX launched its Falcon Heavy rocket from Cape Canaveral in Florida, sending a Tesla into orbit around the earth with a dummy named "Starman" in the driver's seat, a feat even Elon Musk wasn't sure was possible. The Falcon Heavy is the most powerful operational rocket in the world.
The satellite in Thursday's launch has a mission life of five and a half years and is operating by Spanish company Hidesate, serving both commercial and government needs. The launch also includes SpaceX's first test satellite for its global broadband project known as Starlink. CNET explains the idea behind Starlink is to use satellites in a lower orbit to cut down on lag times.
