Ventura Woman Suspected of Forging Checks Tries to Hide from Police in Men's Room
Police say the woman tried to use stolen checks at a Murrieta CVS.

MURRIETA, CA – Murrieta police say they arrested a woman with several warrants out for her arrest after she was caught trying to use stolen checks at a local drug store.
According to Murrieta Police Lt. Tony Conrad, police got a call from the CVS at 23791 Washinton Ave. at 4:30 p.m. Friday regarding a woman trying to pass stolen checks.
Police arrived within minutes, but the woman was gone.

"The female, later identified as Amber Sherrill, was located in a nearby business hiding in the men's restroom," Conrad said in a news release. "As the officer attempted to contact Ms. Sherrill, she began to struggle and actively resist her impending arrest."
When cops ran a records check on the suspect, they discovered she had five misdemeanor warrants out of Ventura County, two misdemeanor warrants out of Riverside County, and one felony no bail warrant out of Ventura County, Conrad said.

What's more, police say they found "several" checks that weren't Sherrill's. Rather, they belonged to a person in Ventura County, according to Conrad.
Sherrill was taken o the Murrieta jail on charges of burglary, forgery, resisting arrest and the outstanding felony warrant. She remained jailed as of Thursday, and is due in court Aug. 11, online booking records indicate.
