Weather Service Warns of Continued High Temperatures

The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement warning of near record high temperatures from later this week well into next week.

Highs will be in the high 80s Thursday and rise into the 90s at least through Monday, the service predicts.

A ridge of high pressure currently over Texas will strengthen into the strangest ridge of the year and slide into the southwest Wednesday, bringing high temperatures with it. The ridge will likely remain anchored in place through much of next week, the Weather Service said.
