1 Arrested, 25 Cited Amid Pedestrian, Bike Safety Op In Menifee

One driver was stopped and found to have two felony fraud warrants for his arrest, the department said.

MENIFEE, CA — Menifee police issued 25 citations and made one arrest during a bicycle and pedestrian safety sting on Wednesday, the department announced Thursday.

The operation took place at several undisclosed streets and intersections frequently traveled by people on foot and by bicycle.

One driver was stopped during the operation and was found by police to have two felony fraud warrants for his arrest. He was taken to jail, according to the Menifee Police Department.

“Safety is a shared responsibility," Chief Chris Karrer said. “We hope this operation serves as a reminder to everyone to practice due care and to look out for one another.”

Another operation will be held soon but a date has not been released yet, police said.

Funding for the operation was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
