2 Arrested, 56 Citations Issued In Murrieta DUI Sting
Drivers charged with a first-time DUI can face an average of $13,500 in fines.
MURRIETA, CA — Dozens of drivers were cited and two were arrested in a DUI saturation patrol recently conducted by the Murrieta Police Department, officials said.
Officers were on the lookout for impaired drivers one evening last week, the department said. Officials aimed to enforce laws against running red lights and stop signs, using phones while driving, and exceeding speed limits.
In that evening alone, a total of 56 citations were issued, one person suspected of driving under the influence was arrested, and another motorist was taken into custody for a felony warrant, the department said.
