4th Annual RivCo Recycles Community Summit Scheduled This Weekend

The free online event is open to all. Updates include waste legislation, resources, and how to make Riverside County more sustainable.

The following is a news release from the county of Riverside:

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — County waste department invites residents and businesses to learn about updates in waste legislation, free resources in your community, and what you can do to make Riverside County more sustainable, all from the comfort of your home! On Saturday, November 18, the Riverside County Department of Waste Resources will host the 4th Annual RivCo Recycles Community Summit, a free virtual conference, from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. The conference can be accessed virtually through our website: https://rcwaste.org/rivco-recycles-summit.

This year we will learn about local sustainability and environmental programs implemented by University of California Riverside – Green Campus Action Plan, La Sierra High School’s recycling program, Repeat Reuse, Bye Bye Mattress, the Center for Community Action and Environmental Justice, and our own Riverside County Department of Waste Resources. All attendees at the summit will be automatically entered into a prize drawing. Three (3) lucky attendees will win a swag bag of sustainable and reusable goodies.

The Department of Waste Resources offers a variety of FREE environmental education classes related to waste reduction and sustainability. Class instructors provide attendees with professional learning and instructional materials that demonstrate environmental diversion themes such as composting, recycling, and green cleaning.
