After Murrieta Boy Is Hit By Car, Officer Helps Him Get New Bike
Police officials say the boy was spared serious injuries thanks to a helmet.

MURRIETA, CA — A Murrieta boy is riding this weekend on a brand-new bicycle, after being hit by a car earlier this week, police report.
The 9-year-old boy was hit by a vehicle on Tuesday in Murrieta, police said. He was wearing a helmet and suffered injuries described as "moderate."
"[H]owever, his bicycle was not so lucky. #totaled," Murrieta police said on Facebook.

On Thursday, a Murrieta police decided to help the boy out and worked the Target on California Oaks to get a new BMX bicycle donated to him. Then, Officer Vrooman bought the boy a brand new helmet.
"Erin and Jaime from Target went with Officer Vrooman to deliver the helmet and bicycle," police said while sharing pictures from the encounter. "There were smiles and hugs for everyone."
