Body Found At Murrieta Park, Foul Play Not Suspected
The discovery was made late Thursday morning at Rancho Acacias Park.

MURRIETA, CA — An ongoing investigation into human remains found late Thursday morning in a Murrieta park does not appear to be a homicide, police said.
"The initial investigation did not reveal any signs of foul play or indicate any danger to residents, but the investigation is ongoing," Murrieta police Lt. Jeremy Durrant said.
Murrieta police, along with fire personnel, were called at 10:48 a.m. regarding the remains that were discovered by a passerby at Rancho Acacias Park, according to Durrant.

Police gathered at the southwest edge of the public park located at 39785 Avenida Palizada. Yellow investigation scene tape was placed across the park, which is nestled in a residential neighborhood just east of Interstate 215.
Due to the decomposing nature of the remains, the coroner had to make the determination that they were definitely human, according to the lieutenant.
