MURRIETA, CA — Are you an avid Pickleballer? The city of Murrieta wants to hear from you.

The city is currently designing two courts for Alderwood Park, which is part of a capital improvement project that is funded with $40,000.

The project's goal is to build as many courts as possible and keep the design elements within reason to stay within the boundaries of the budget, the city said. The design phase began in July to increase Alderwood Park's number of courts to six.

"The Murrieta community has been calling for access to dedicated pickleball courts throughout the city," officials wrote on the city's website.

As of May 2024, the city had four pickleball courts. Two are located at B Street Station Park next to the Library and Senior Center, and another two can be found at Alderwood Park on Baxter Road just east of Whitewood Road.
