Arrest Made After Threats To Kill Murrieta Mayor, Others: Report
A 32-year-old is accused of threatening public officials, including a Moreno Valley councilmember and a sheriff's captain.
MURRIETA, CA — A 32-year-old Moreno Valley man was arrested in connection with threats to public officials after he claimed that city council members were "infiltrating his phone," The Press-Enterprise reported.
Jesse William Wykel is accused of making threats through email and WeTip, an online platform where people can submit anonymous tips to police, the newspaper reported.
A single Moreno Valley councilmember, the captain of the sheriff's Moreno Valley station and the Mayor of Murrieta were reportedly listed in court documents filed by the District Attorney's Office.

“We’re literally going to … kill them. We’re going to start killing officers,” Wykel is accused of writing via WeTip on Jan. 16, according to a declaration written by Riverside County sheriff's Investigator Robert Castellanos.
Wykel reportedly pleaded not guilty on Jan. 24 to one count of threatening an executive officer and two counts. of threatening public officials — all felonies. He is due back in court on Feb. 4.
