Assemblymember Gives Award To Menifee Bike Shop Known For Charity
Assemblymember Kelly Seyarto's Small Business of the Year award went to family-owned Menifee Bicycles, which makes donations to schools.

MURRIETA, CA — A locally owned bicycle shop known for making donations to schools and police has picked up Assemblymember Kelly Seyarto’s Small Business of the Year award, the legislator said in a statement.
Seyarto (R-Murrieta) picked family-owned Menifee Bicycles Inc. as the best in the 67th Assembly District, the August 18 statement said.
The shop specialized in sales and repairs around Southwest Riverside County, and has donated bikes and services to “a number of schools, law enforcement agencies, and local charities," the statement said.

The shop has a five-star Yelp.com rating and won a Menifee Business Spotlight Award from the City of Menifee in 2019, the statement added.
Scott Cooper, now deceased, and his son Craig Cooper started the shop in Sun City 37 years ago and moved to its current location in Menifee 20 years ago. Craig, who has worked more than 42 years in bicycle retail, operates the store today.

The shop sells more than 1,000 bikes per year to our local customers and services hundreds of bikes per month. Last year Menifee Bicycles took in $2.8 million in revenue, double previous years, because of pandemic-driven purchases, Craig Cooper said.
As part of its charity work, Menifee Bicycles supplies bikes to the Chico-based corporate team building company Odyssey Teams and together they have sent 27,000 bikes to “deserving children around the world," the shop’s website says.
Other bikes are donated through the Boys and Girls Club of Menifee, the store operator said.
Seyarto honored Menifee Bicycles at a California Small Business Association lunch coinciding with California Small Business Day on August 18.
“These businesses, and more importantly the people and the families behind them, keep our communities strong and help our local economies prosper,” Seyarto said in the statement. “The Menifee Bicycles family has been serving our district for generations, and it is my pleasure to honor and thank them with this award.”
