Menifee, CA — Back-to-school season brings a mix of excitement and nerves — for students, parents and staff alike. Thankfully, Menifee is home to everyday school heroes who help make the transition smoother and the school year a little brighter.

From teachers and tutors to bus drivers, cafeteria staff, crossing guards and more, these caring individuals bring steady support and positivity to our schools. To recognize their many contributions — big and small — Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to salute the unsung heroes of back-to-school.

Please describe why this individual is a hero at your school.

Dorilynn is the school nurse who is always there for the students. From assisting the diabetic students with their meds, walk-ins needing help and not feeling well, helping medically fragile students, and calling 911 for emergency assistance, she is ready to jump in all in the name of student safety. She makes connections with students so they feel comfortable to ask for help. Dorilynn is caring and compassionate and truly cares about the students wellbeing. It’s a pleasure working with her everyday.

How do you know the school hero you’re nominating?

She is a work colleague.

What should your community know about this person?

From the moment Dorilynn steps on campus each day she is ready to help students. From bumps and bruises, female issues, medication assistance, head injuries, and any other complaint a student may have, she listens to the student and provides caring assistance and comfort to the children. She is genuine, has a big heart, and a true hero to our student community.
