City Looks To Fill Youth Recreation Job Openings For Summer Season
From lifeguard positions to overnight camp staff, Berkeley has a wide variety of seasonal positions open for its Youth Recreation programs.
BERKELEY, CA — Berkeley's Parks and Recreation Department is looking to fill a variety of seasonal positions within its youth recreation programs.
"We're looking for overnight camp staff, recreation activity leaders, lifeguards, and others to join our recreation staff and work outdoors while providing fun, active, and creative programs for Berkeley youth," the city said in a news release.
Those selected for the positions will provide fun, active and creative programs for youth, the city said, adding it was looking for applicants from a range of social, ethnic and racial backgrounds for the positions.

Summer jobs available that include employment at Echo Lake and Tuolumne overnight camps, day camps, pools, recreation centers, parks, Adventure Playground, and the Skate Park.
"Most positions having a starting pay of above $20 an hour," the city said.

Those interesting in working for Berkeley Parks and Recreation should check the city's Seasonal Recreation jobs page every couple of weeks as new opportunities arise.
To qualify for a seasonal position, applicants must be 16 years or older, be able to work 20-40 hours per week, and available to start in early June. Applicants must also pass a tuberculosis test, complete a Live Scan background check, and have a signed Social Security card.
