Coroner IDs Menifee Woman, 79, As Crash Victim

The single-vehicle crash occurred on Friday afternoon in the 27700 block of Avenida Interno.

MENIFEE, CA — The 79-year-old woman who was killed when she crashed her vehicle through a block wall in Menifee was identified Monday as a resident of the city.

The Riverside County Coroner's Bureau identified Alice Fields as the person who died as a result of the collision, her identity revealed following notification of next of kin.

The crash occurred shortly after 3:30 p.m. Friday in the 27700 block of Avenida Interno, according to the Riverside County coroner's report.

According to the Menifee Police Department, officers arrived at the scene and found a Kia Soul with significant damage and an unresponsive woman inside the vehicle. She was the sole occupant.

Paramedics pronounced Fields dead at the scene.

Fields was traveling east on Shadel Road when she failed to stop at a stop sign at Sherman Road, police said. The Kia continued east and went over a curb, then through a cinderblock wall and came to a stop in the backyard of a residence.

"Alcohol is suspected to have been a contributing factor in the collision," police said.
